2215 Approval of permit for transport of oversized cargo

The permit for transport of oversized cargo is issued by the Road Infrastructure Agency. Before the final issuance it has to be agreed by the Traffic Police.

Restrictions and conditions:
The coordination concerns a draft permit for transport of oversized cargo, which is prepared in advance by the Road Infrastructure Agency.
When the transport of oversized cargo takes place on the territory of one or two neighbouring regions in the country, the permit has to be approved by the respective Regional Directorate of Interior from which the transport of the cargo starts.
When the transport takes place on the territory of more than two regions, the permit has to be approved by the National Police General Directorate.
Requirements, procedures, instructions
I. Submitting of a draft permit
The draft permit which is prepared in advance by the Road Infrastructure Agency is submitted to the respective Traffic Police Unit.
The following documents accompany the draft:
1. Transport schedule – when the oversized vehicles have a total mass above 100 t, or gauges bigger than: 4,50m width or 30,00 m length
2. Route protocol – when the oversized and/or heavy vehicles have a mass bigger than 100 t, height bigger than 5 m, length bigger than 40 m, and width bigger than 5,50 m
3. Document of paid state fee

II. Substantial check
The Traffic Police officers perform a substantial check of the submitted documents regarding their compliance with the legislation.
In case of omissions the documents are given back to the applicant for corrections.

III. Coordination
When the documents meet the requirements the Traffic Police officer approves the permit by his name, signature and stamp.

The service fee is determined in Tariff Nr. 4 on Fees charged by the Ministry of Interior under the Law on State Fees
