The applicant can request a temporary taking off road of a vehicle if he/she intends not to use it for a long time or wants to restrict its use by other persons related to him.

Competent authority:
Traffic Police units at the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior & Regional Directorates of Interior
Deadline for issuing: immediately
Validity of document/individual administrative act: until an application for commissioning of the vehicle is submitted
Control authority for the authority, which has provided the service:
Director of the Regional Directorate of Interior where the competent Traffic Police Unit is situated.
Authority of appeal of individual administrative act: Director of the Regional Directorate of Interior where the competent Traffic Police Unit is situated.
Restrictions and conditions: The temporary taking off road of a vehicle is done only by the Traffic Police Unit as per permanent address of the owner or as per address of the seat of the business entity.
Requirements, procedures, instructions
Submitting an application
The application is generated by the information system of the Ministry of Interior. The data is filled in automatically. The applicant checks the data and verifies it by a signature. The applicant does not have to fill in the application in advance.
The application should be accompanied by:
1. Identity document - for individuals; unified identification code – for business entities, for those, who have no unified identification code – document on founding and BULSTAT code
2. Free form text application in which the reasons for taking the vehicle off road are pointed out
3. Part II of the vehicle registration certificate
4. Document on undergone technical inspection – if it is within term of validity
5. Document on paid state fee
6. Notarized Power of attorney – if the application is submitted by an authorised representative
