Education

1997 - Graduated the Academy of the Ministry of Interior
2002 - Master's degree in Counteraction to Crime and Public Order Protection from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior

2005 – Master’s degree in law from the Neofit Rilski South-West University, Blagoevgrad

2014 – Master’s degree in Civil Protection and Critical Infrastructure Protection from the Georgi Rakovski Military Academy, Sofia

Good command of English; Basic knowledge of Russian.

 

Professional Experience

1991 - Started working at the Ministry of Interior (Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior) and passed through different positions – police officer, police commander, and head of group, head of unit, and deputy head of department.

June, 2013 – July, 2014 – Deputy Director of Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior; Since July, 2014 – Director of Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior;

May 9, 2017 - September 19, 2018 - Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.

 

Elected Minister of Interior on September 20, 2018 by the 44-th National Assembly.
