Chief Commissioner Nikolay Hadzhiev was born in 1981 in Plovdiv.

Education:

He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of the Interior in Sofia in 2005, subject "Crime Counteraction and Public Order Protection".

He holds a Master’s Degree, from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior in Sofia, subject "Strategic Management and Management of Security and Public order”.

He graduated in Law from the South-West University Blagoevgrad.

Professional career:

- 2005 police investigator, Traffic Police Sektor, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

-  2006 police investigator, Investigation Department, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

- 2009 intelligence police officer, Counter-Crime Department, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

-  2010 Head of Group within Counter-Crime Department, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

-  2013 Head of Drug Sector, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

-  2015 Head of Counter-Crime Department, Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior

-  2016 Director of Blagoevgrad Regional Directorate of Interior

-  In June 2019 he was appointed Deputy Director of  National Police General Directorate.

-  By order of the Minister of Interior dated 24 July 2020, he has been assigned the position of Director of National Police General Directorate.

Chief Comissioner Nikolay Hadzhiev has undergone specialized courses: ILEA 2014 in Budapest and the International Drug Commander Course 2013 in Bucharest.

Married, with two children.
