Reference Information

What are the new documents like?

1.  The following identity documents shall be issued to Bulgarian citizens:

• ID card
• passport - for proving of identity abroad
• driving license

The driving license shall be issued at the same time or after the issuance of the ID card

2. The following identity documents, substituting the passport shall also be issued to Bulgarian citizens:

• temporary passport for returning to the Republic of Bulgaria
• border permit
• temporary passport for definitive leaving of the Republic of Bulgaria
