Projects

Strengthening the Refugees Agency (2001)

This project addressed the absence of a reliable system for handling illegal immigration and receiving and maintenance of asylum seekers. The project trained staff to handle asylum cases in line with EU standards and practices and reviewed the legal framework to bring it into line with the relevant EU acquis. The project supported a feasibility study to permit subsequent investment in two asylum centers. It assured improved administrative capacity is sustained by providing strategic advice and a small amount of equipment.
