International Co-operation Directorate

In compliance with the main tasks of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior (MoI) stipulated in Article 6, item 9 and Article 130 of the Law on the MoI, the International Co-operation Directorate fulfils the following functions:

     1. organizes the co-operation of the MoI with counterpart structures of other states;
      2. organizes and implements the co-operation of the MoI with international organizations;
      3. collects, processes, stores and provides information on the bilateral and multilateral co-operation of the MoI;
      4. jointly with other services prepares, analyzes and evaluates international co-operations on behalf of the MoI and proposes their conclusion;
      5. co-ordinates the international activity of the MoI with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
 6. co-ordinates and participates in the activities leading up to the accession of Bulgaria to the EU under Chapter 24 “Co-operation in the Field of Justice and Home Affairs”;
7. co-ordinates the programming and implementation of PHARE projects in the field of Justice and Home Affairs
